It is doubtful that any civilized European country has recently led such a forceful defamation campaign against a single individual as is the case in Hungary against locally born American billionaire George Soros who was a long-time sponsor of the party currently in power and its leaders, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, President of Parliament László kövér, Head of State János Áder, Ministers (current and future) János Lázár and Lajos Kósa, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács, author of the Orbán Constitution József Szájer and other leading political figures of Fidesz.
Hungarian state television’s channels have begun to air the Government’s propagandistic commercial during breaks of sports competitions to push for wide participation in the next ”National Consultation” in order to secure nation-wide opposition against the ”Soros Plan.” Such government questionnaires, mailed to every citizen eligible to vote, usually contain cynical questions that prompt only one kind of answer.
Orbán’s Government presents the Soros Plan, without any reference to its source, as an evil scheme to let in one million immigrants annually (not even clear where, based on the TV ad) and provide them each with extremely high financial assistance that is up to five times higher than the average salary in Hungary. People are simply expected to believe the outrageous state-and-party propaganda they are being served ad nauseam.
