Ködmön EmeseCommunications and media professional, translator and interpreter for six languages. Born in a teachers’ family in Mohol/Mol, Vojvodina, former Yugoslavia. In her late teens, she was among the leading organizers of the traditional Arts Festival of Hungarian High-school Students in Yugoslavia. Before graduation, she won a national competition for best documentary screenplay. She sang as a mezzosoprano in the Becse/Bečej Choir of European fame, under the direction of Milenko Šustran.

Emese has an advanced degree in journalism and mass communications from the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade. From 1977, she worked for Novi Sad Radio-Television (RTV NS), first as editor of youth programs and later as editor and anchor of the Hungarian-language evening news. She autored the first documentary for the All-Yugoslav Television Network (JRT) about the first ethnic political party founded in Yugoslavia, the Democratic Community of Vojvodina Hungarians. She also worked as a specialist at the Institute for Media and Audience Research of RTV NS

Lives in the United States since 1991 with her family and works as a media analyst and is engaged in the development of intercultural and international communications. She has suported the independent Szabad Magyar Szó news site and the Pőress Freedom Foundation since their establishment in 2016.
